In fact it is boundaries of various kinds that allow cities to contain myriad of functions within a relatively small amount of space. However, the properties of boundaries are not always healthy for the city. While some boundaries act as thresholds, designing the transition from one entity to another and the same time mediate between the two. Other boundaries act as barriers, excluding interaction and communication."  Emil's project looks to explore the positive aspects of boundaries and utilize them to design a new Nyhamnen.
